DAY4 Conference Report

DAY4 was implemented under a program structure that crossed academic, industrial, and diplomatic knowledge. In the morning, we learned from leading experts in various fields through speaking sessions, while in the afternoon, climate tech panels and executive seminars provided practical insights. The subsequent networking and debates provided time for participants with diverse backgrounds to exchange frank opinions and deepen mutual understanding. Additionally, preparations for the Impact Challenge, the main event of DAY5, were conducted, with team formation and issue setting proceeding.

A Dialogue from Hiroshima

Drawing from 15 years of experience in preserving atomic bomb testimonies, he introduced the practice of 'dialogue' to overcome memories of conflict. He explained with specific examples the process of relativizing the preconceived notions of perpetrator and victim, and confronting each other as human beings.

Through discussions where participants confronted 'questions without answers,' it became an opportunity to examine the intersection of science, policy, and local communities.

Networking sessions to deepen exchanges among participants with diverse nationalities and professional backgrounds. While sharing meals, it became an opportunity to build new networks and friendships through informal dialogue.

Dynamic Policy Simulation

A simulation to experience the policy-making process. Participants discussed policy issues from the perspectives of government officials, corporate representatives, and civil society, learning the process of consensus building.

Impact Challenge Preparation (Working Time)

Team formation and issue setting sessions toward the final day. Participants formed groups by areas of interest and proceeded with preparations for projects examining solutions to social issues.
