The career fair was held at Fukutake Hall on the University of Tokyo's Hongo Campus, with participation from major domestic companies and organizations including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and JR East. This event was designed to provide students with recruitment and networking opportunities, while also serving as a platform to introduce Japan's efforts in international society, including SDGs promotion and the Japanese government's VNR presentation. With an expected participation of 150–300 people, students from diverse nationalities and backgrounds actually participated, deepening industry–academia–government connections through booth interactions and hands-on events.
In the first part, keynote greetings and VNR introductions were delivered by Shigeaki Ando, Director of the International Cooperation Bureau at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with Y7/Y20 representatives. They introduced Japan's international cooperation initiatives and corporate activities under the theme 'Contributing to a Sustainable World Future.'
In the subsequent second part, interactions between participating students and corporate representatives took place at booths set up in the Fukutake Hall foyer. This career fair not only provided a venue for direct dialogue between companies and students to obtain concrete guidance for career development, but also became a valuable opportunity for HPAIR participants to deepen their understanding of Japanese companies and broaden the possibilities for future career choices.
In addition, an experiential event by 'Meta Earth Heroes' was held at the Fukutake Learning Theater, offering opportunities to experience the intersection of digital technology and sustainability through quizzes and workshops utilizing the metaverse. Furthermore, a closed session hosted by JR East was held at the Fukutake Learning Studio, where specialized discussions on transportation infrastructure and future cities were conducted.
This career fair not only served as a venue for companies and students to engage in direct dialogue and gain concrete guidance for career development, but also became an opportunity to raise awareness of participation in solving global issues. Exhibiting companies highly valued the international mindset and diverse perspectives of the students, while participating students expressed that it was a 'valuable opportunity to connect with the professional world.'
